The Eiffel Tower:
Built and designed between 1887 and 1889 by Gustave Eiffel and inaugurated on March 31, 1889, the Eiffel tower is the 18th most visited attraction in the world (according to Forbes), cumulating 236 445 812 visitors as of December 31st, 2007. It is 324 meters high, or about 2/3 of the Empire State Building's height. It includes 2 500 000 rivets and one must climb 1 665 steps to get to the top.

The Statue of Liberty:
The Statue of Liberty's real name is "Liberty Enlightening the World." It was presented to the United States by the people of France in 1886 and it's official purpose is to welcome visitors, immigrants, and returning Americans traveling by ship. It was engineered by Gustave Eiffel's company, the designer of the Eiffel Tower. It is 93-meter tall. You would have to pile up five statues of liberty to reach the height of the Empire State Building.
